1) Raise the take-up lever to the highest point by turning the balance wheel toward you.
2) Place a spool of thread on the spool pin.
3) Pass the end of the thread through the upper arm thread guide and around tension disks from right to left.
Follow threading sequence in illustration.
Draw the end of the thread down around the check spring holder.
Firmly draw the thread up from right to left over the take up lever
and down into the take-up lever eye.
Thread the needle from front to back.
