Janome 712T Sewing Machine Threading Instructions

 

Note: Before starting, ensure that the machine is turned off and unplugged for safety.

1. Bobbin Winding:

a. Place a spool of thread on the spool pin at the top-right corner of the machine.
b. Take the thread and guide it around the thread guide located on the top of the machine.
c. Pull the thread end through the bobbin winder tension disc, located on the top-left side of the machine.
d. Take an empty bobbin and place it onto the bobbin winder spindle, which is situated on the top-right side of the machine.
e. Push the bobbin winder to the right to engage it.
f. Hold the thread end and start the machine. The bobbin will wind automatically. Stop when the bobbin is full or as desired.
g. Cut the thread, slide the bobbin winder to the left to disengage it, and remove the bobbin from the spindle.

2. Threading the Upper Thread:

a. Take the spool pin holder and insert it into the hole at the top of the machine.
b. Place a spool of thread onto the spool pin holder.
c. Pull the thread and guide it around the thread guide located at the top-right corner of the machine.
d. Take the thread and bring it down through the thread guide located at the top-left corner.
e. Guide the thread from the left to the right into the thread tension discs.
f. Pull the thread down and around the take-up lever, which is a metal hook located on the left side of the machine.
g. From the take-up lever, guide the thread straight down and pass it through the thread guide located just above the needle.
h. Thread the needle from the front to the back, leaving a tail of thread.

3. Threading the Bobbin Case:

a. Open the hinged cover to access the bobbin case.
b. Insert the bobbin into the bobbin case, ensuring it rotates counterclockwise when pulled by the thread.
c. Pull the thread through the slit in the bobbin case, leaving a tail of thread.
d. Place the bobbin case into the machine, aligning the marks on the case with the markings inside the bobbin case area.
e. Close the hinged cover, making sure it clicks into place.

4. Final Steps:

a. Hold the upper thread and manually turn the handwheel toward you to lower the needle into the fabric.
b. Pull the upper thread slightly to bring up the bobbin thread.
c. Hold both threads together and pull them towards the back of the machine, under the presser foot.
d. Your Janome 712T Sewing Machine is now threaded and ready to sew!
